I was teaching at Bodindecha (Sing Singhaseni) Nonthaburi School. Bodindecha school they using International Standard school curriculum. But, base on my observations, each teacher has their own teaching style.
1. Teaching Methods
As I said earlier that each teacher in Bodindecha School has different teaching methods. Especially for foreign teachers. They teach by English and most students don’t talk English fluency, sometimes, they also don’t understand when the teacher explains the lesson by English. That’s why foreign teacher usually applies some kinds of game in their lesson, in order to take the student’s attention and they can relate to the lesson.
2. Learning Materials and Innovation
The learning materials or instruction material used in general are pictures, games, demonstrations, and other media like torso handmade by the teacher that will help students to understand the lesson content. Learning materials between Thai teachers and foreign teachers also different. This happens cause in Bodindech School foreign teachers are not allowed to use the laboratory and multimedia room for playing power points presentations. No wonder that Bodindecha foreign teachers have to be a creative and innovative teacher to deliver learning to students.
3. Sources of Learning and Technology
Teachers use the internet and textbooks to get teaching aids, also with the students. They also bring their textbooks. The technology in the classroom, there’s a television in every class to play a video, but my coordinator teacher never uses that. He prefers to teach by doing than watch a video.
4. Authentic Assesment
The foundation of authentic assessment resolves around evaluating students ability to apply what they have learned in class. Sometimes, the teacher would hold a quiz to test their ability, sometimes the teacher will have a written test at the end of the topic or at the end of the class. It's also with mid-term test and final test.
