Teaching Plan

1.       Curriculum Analysis
The structure of lower and upper secondary school in Thailand includes 4 components
Core subjects: basic subjects that correspond to life and society in general and mst be taken by all students. All of these subjects are prepared by the Department of Curriculum and instruction development, Ministry of Education.
-          Thai Language
-          Mathematics
-          Science
-          Social and Religious Culture
Prescribed Elective Subjects: basic subjects which are different according to local conditions and needs. The local authorities are given an opportunity to choose the subjects offered according to the number of credits, or the local authorities can prepare the subjects offered by themselves in addition to those prescribed by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Development.
-          Health and Physical Science
-          Professional works and Technology
-          Foreign language
-          Arts
Free Elective Subjects: are open for learners to choose according to their interests, and needs. Students can choose either the subjects prepared by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Development or those created the local authorities.
-          Foreign Language (English, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, France, etc)
Activities: All schools are required to organize three types of activities for learners, those organized in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education, guidance, remedial teaching academic development activities, and independent activities of learners.

Grade Level: M 2/3            Class :             1                                              Time Allotment : 50 minutes

Objective        : at the end of the lesson, students should be able to :
1.      Students will recognize five main types of nutrients
2.      Students will know the importance of carbohydrate
3.      Students know kind of foods that contained carbohydrate in daily life
4.      Students can answer correctly the following evaluation activity
Content           : Textbook

Procedure
a. Introduction
l  Start learning with greetings and check student attendance
l  Teacher presents learning objectives and motivates students
b. Presentation
·         The teacher will explain the concept of the topic
·         The Teacher will ask students understanding and give more examples
·         Students will copy the text of the topic on their notebooks
·         Teacher may add additional information not listed in the text provided if it's necessary
c. practice
·         The teacher share cards to students before starting a game
·         The teacher tell rule of the game to students
·         Teacher will let students play the game and answer some questions
·         Teacher will ask other students to answer the next questions

·         Students will do the exercise (matching type problem)

There are five main types of nutrients :

Nutrients contained in food that we consumed or we eat every day. Nutrients keeping our body health, give us the energy to do activities. Especially carbohydrate. Carbohydrates provide you energy. There is some food that source of carbohydrate :
1.      Rice

2.      Sticky rice
3.      Bread
4.      Flour
5.      Sugar
6.      Noodle
7.      Potato
8.      Corn

9.      Cassava

10.  Sweet Potato

Assignment
1.      What are the main types of nutrient?
2.      What is the importance of carbohydrates?
3.      There are several food sources of carbohydrates. What are they?
